Today's band prac was quite fun (: (:

And during English Ms Ng introduced us to a new way of writing - 55 Fiction! :D It's basically a story with only 55 words with "a setting, one or more characters, some conflict and a resolution" and there's usually this twist in the last sentence that encompasses the theme and gives the reader a 'shock'. Here's mine (: (Warning: Abstract! But I hope you get it.)

Sisters

The adults stood by in mock patience. The two girls, one with fair hair and the other with black, but with beautiful faces of striking resemblance, fixed their eyes on the apple strudel. A very rare morsel, with creamy goodness. They could not decide; they did love each other, but both wanted to study law.

Fate Seal-ed

Cruel, almost sharp snowflakes whipped its face, and the gale drowned out its calls. The twinkling glow, albeit tiny, was a welcome sight. It made its way painstakingly towards the halo of light, straining against the pillar of wind. Soon, it could make out a human, with a…stick? Darkness. Such is the nature of man.

Muahaha now to conquer Chem and Lit PTs D< Ta.

WE GOT CLASS TEE TODAYYYYYY muahahaha. I bet we're one of the first classes to get our class tee. It's really nice and cool and definitely better than...YOURS.

I finally began on my Chem PT -.- After finding out that it's due on Monday and not Friday after all. (They're so stingy with time. D<) The Internet is finally beginning to tiled some info after my dad suggested typing in a certain keyword - I can't believe I was so slow not to think of it before man. It's the lack of sleep.

Today was speech (:O) and I hope mine was okay. My answer to her second question was a bit...weird and evasive pfft. At least there was time for direct-taking :D :D After I-can't-count-how-many months :D :D Anyway, Talia, Julia and I are SC finalists and uh currently that's not a good thing because we have to be there for every single Nday rehearsal. Oh please.

The highlight of today is, of course (like DUH), The Dark Knight with Jolyn :D

It's a fantastic show. Action-packed with handsome hero ha ha. The issues dealt with made me think of how I treat others and like, how people treat one another in general. And the Joker was very good and schizophrenic and silly and evil with all his weird bouts of laughter and spasms etc etc. I shouldn't say anymore; you should totally go watch it.

Li lao shi broke the excellent news today that our Chinese PT cheng xian is...NEXT WEEK! I mean like, spring it on us one week before the thing and say that "it was given to yall very early so yall should have already finished it" yada yada? I am disgusted.

The worst thing is, there won't be any band break till the PT season has ended how ironic is that please. People, guess what grand event we're practising for! National Day! I am so totally excited about playing the national anthem. On the other hand tomorrow's 'prac' will probably be exciting 'cause they'll be announcing the new leaders and stuff (:

SIBF Day in band u haha.

Main accomplishment for the weekend: Finished entire content for History PT :D And that's considering the fact that I went to church today and only came back at around 5.

Haha thanks Anna for your advice that I should go for cell :D

And I'm going to watch The Dark Knight with Jolyn tomorrow woohoo! It's really risky but ah, let's take the risk.

SIBF is over and the results will be coming out in, 32 minutes. Around there.

At the last page of Global Variations I was thinking, These are the last few minutes we'll be playing with the Sec 4s. And that last page happens to have really nice melodies. Hmm.

I was quite happy about how it went for me (: I definitely played better than during our concert and reached most of the high notes, especially for Russian Sailors' Dance. I found out that you shouldn't hesitate before coming in; just come in with confidence and the note will turn out fine. Guaranteed one. For example, the part where I join Chloe's solo in GV (: Haha yes.

Although last year I thought RGSSB'07 was the best year I would ever have, I think every year with different people makes the experience different. 5 more days till we become the top batch hahaha. I'm actually looking forward to it some (:

Haha we're like freaking out about it now over msn and having this rocket-pace batch convo lol so fun :D

Yes I've finished the bulk of my speech (: (: (:

I WANT TO WATCH THE DARK KNIGHT. I must make the time to go watch it, and it should be on a weekday before 5pm. Joni and Evan say it's really good, although long. I wonder if Heath Ledger killed himself and if he did whywhywhy? It's such a pity ):

Tomorrow's SIBF (and I'm missing the whole day of lessons woohoo :D) and our last time playing with the Sec4s :P Top batch, very soon :P

It's late.

title: Cadenza XI :)

This is one of the rare detailed posts you'll see because I do not like people who don't know me well knowing every single thing about my life. (Plus they read your blog and don't tag!)

For remembrance:

I reached school at 7 :D (fine, a few minutes later) and I found that Alicia was helping people french-braid their hair! Haha I have to thank Alicia for braiding my hair around 3 times (!) and battling dizziness on the bus just to do it again ;) Xinyi brought Gatsby hair gel ._.

Presents were very interesting: Zhenyi gave everyone a potato because "Potatoes have eyes so you must watch Mr Oura..." Hahaha. And Jolyn's cute little finger puppets (I know they're from Ikea my dear - WHO gave you the idea?) And Yujia's pretty book cover collage that she made herself.

Anyway SCH doesn't look like it can hold 880 people. Rehearsal went quite well (I think better than the concert itself please). Lunch was quite, uh, nice. Well actually everything is nice when you're ravenous, right.

All too soon it was time to line up backstage and we were all just dying of nervousness, like waiting for the bells to ring and everything, doing entirely weird things to stave off our goosebumps. We went out and the hall was quite empty (you know how Singaporeans are normally late for everything and they all start streaming in after your first song). But Chloe said only 73 tickets were left unsold muahaha >:) My family said they were waving wildly at me and I "pretended not to see" haha.

The whole thing didn't really feel like a concert; I mean the nervousness wore off after a while. When it was time to go out after intermission there was no inkling of nervousness at all. :) or :(?

Yes haha and then when we went down to meet everyone people started cheering and at the top of the staircase Jolyn told me, "I feel like we're being mobbed." I was thinking, Haha, enjoy the celebrity feeling, man. Picture(s) of flowers, uh, soon :)

Thanks everyone for coming to watch us (or ME :D).

Cadenza XI was VERY FUN and I enjoyed every moment of it :D :D Yeah there were screw-ups but I am not going to dwell on those. Thanks, those who came :)

There are so many things due, there's SIBF on Thursday (hence no band break yet), school was a total waste of time today and my computer is spoilt. Go figure.

If our parents' generation is managing just fine with their lives now with their relatively relaxed education system of last time, I just don't see why the system now (die-die) must stress us till breaking point. And I don't think it's just my school -.-

Sunday's prayer session was good but I feel asleep during the sermon :P (this is utterly embarrassing it was the Cornerstone pastor!). It's Monday night and I still feel sleepy yo.

title: Harsh unreality

It's Cadenza and we're on the stage in a small hall that's really sparsely filled. Like one side of the hall is empty. We play Global Variations till we come to around the beginning of the second page, and then Mr O, strangely, suddenly stops us to correct something. I spot my mum and aunt in the audience. After that we go backstage and I take out my socks and shoes to change back into my school shoes. My mum, aunts and sis come backstage to find me. For some reason my band socks and shoes are lying at the foot of the stairs leading up to the stage, and when I go back to put them on I can't find one sock. I return backstage to use the toilet, and when I go in I find that the other side opens out to this 'cliff', actually a large ledge, and there's this idiot smiling evilly on a jutting plank. I look down and find that 20 storeys below me is a large body of murky grey water and there are people in it. I ask the idiot incredulously, "You want me to jump?" And he says, "Yes." I jump (:O), and after a few moments of weightlessness I am plunged into the grey water. Somehow I find out it's an SAF swimming pool and the people in it are SAF members and their families - there are elderly people and I remember a young woman in a dark blue bikini. I also find out that this pool is dangerous although I have no idea why, so I start swimming towards the fence at the other end of the pool. On the way I someone I know from church who is part of the SAF. When I'm a metre or so from the high fence, something bites the last 2 fingers on my left hand. I shake it off and swim as quickly as the murky water allows. When I finally reach the fence, something tells me that I'm not allowed out of the water, and so I vault the high fence with amazing ease and find myself on a quiet street with houses. The bite on my hand is not serious. I run away as fast as I can before someone from that damned pool spots me.

There actually is some more, but I've forgotten the rest. Whimsical and fantastic huh? Ew especially the Cadenza part.

title: We go to such lengths to make Music

My life now is like a cup brimming with band practices till there is no more space for anything else. Drip one more drop of say, PTs or something and it'll be left unceremoniously on the table. 'Cause there really is NO MORE space.

Today I went for band practice which ended at around 2, then I went for lunch before going to Anna's house in the nice, scenery-fied Savannah Condopark. Wait, that's not all, darlings. I went for Math tuition after that and didn't step into my house till 8.30. What an excellent more-than-12-hour day.

This week was meant for us to catch up on a lot of things. But I think I'm losing them in stead. Somehow I'm not worrying too much right now about PTs, 'cause from past experience, I somehow always manage to get them in on time. But on the other hand I've not been thrust with more than 5 PTs at once, some of which are due in like, less than 3 weeks' time, and such an intensity of band pracs. I am an amazing person.

Cadenza XI. 2 more days. Excited. Nervous. No, I won't screw.
:D :D :D :D :D

Today was quite awesome! One of my most 'deep' experiences so far. I realised that it's not that we don't have the power to move, it's only your own fears that are holding you back. We're actually equipped with everything we need to move, and if we only take the first step/make the first move, things will start to happen and you'll get this really wonderful feeling of reaping what you sow.

This week's been encouraging, though packed with stupid school stuff, disappointments and worrying about handing in stuff, getting extensions etc. Thanks Joni and Nat for your messages :D

And and and although this week's a so-called holiday, I'll be having band prac almost everyday till Cadenza (which is on Sat mind you!). Only 6 more days left! And I missed 2 band pracs last week! 2 x 2 hours of Global! :O

Oh yeah which reminds me: the Supreme Court visit was SO interesting manzxcscxz! We got to watch this drug-trafficking case, and we got to sit in the Court of Appeal and a Technology Court. No, this doesn't mean I'm gonna pursue a career in law. But it's gonna be real interesting if I do :D I don't know; it's still early :D

I spent Saturday morning and afternoon walking around Orchard Road with Joni selling heart-shaped balloons for charity hahaha. Competing with lots of other people too. It's only now I realise how many people actually do CIP/volunteer work at Orchard Road man seriously. And it certainly isn't nice when people turn their heads away pretending to look at something else, or worse, pretend we're not there. Or when small cute little kids tug at their parents and say they want a balloon but their parents either don't wanna spend the money or are too embarrassed to be seen with a balloon. Ah well. The price we have to pay to serve the community -.- (DIAO)

Pfft I don't know whether to buy the Jason Mraz cd. :P

Group PTs are...

Somehow you end up doing most of the stuff. Though it mightn't be intentional on your group members' parts.

I'm sitting in front of the computer trying to think up interesting solutions for making life better for abused teenagers. Haha that sucks. Not saying I'm heartless; I'm trying to do a draft on ADVOCACY for SS PT -.- Which, incidentally, is due tomorrow and which I've left till today. While many people are enjoying themselves at Sentosa right now.
Rawr.

Anyway, I got my hair cut on Saturday and my fringe is a bit too short now ): Kevin even thinks I cut bangs ): And Andrea and Nat were laughing at it too. Ha ha nvm it'll grow out. My super-long below-the-nose fringe had gotten too long and irritating.

At least for programme booklet section photo my hair was still long :D And in Wei Qing's french braid :D :D

Volleyball module is coming to an end! D: D: D: I could just keep playing that for the rest of the year man - it's so fun! But everyone says contact rugby is really fun too. So. ;)

Tomorrow is Be Yourself Day! Which means we can "wear anything we like to school, so long as it isn't skimpy" hahaha. I am gonna wear my Snoopy shirt (: Unfortunately we have PE and that complicates matters, like a lot a lot.

Come for Cadenza!

Yo (:

I'm sorta having mixed feelings right now. Now there's Lit PT to add to the list and Jolyn told me that History is due 6 days earlier than what the paper states -.- And there are millions of drafts for millions of things to do by next week. (Thank God for the holiday man.)

And I have no idea where my band file is. ALL my scores and 2 tickets are inside. AH. I hope someone took it for me :D

BUT. Anyway we owned IHG Capt's Ball yay (: It was fun slacking around between games with crazy juniors and batchmates ha ha.

title: Make me happy

This is outrageous. It's 12.22(AM!) and I'm still doing school-related stuff :P

History PT was given out today and the apparently very-easy task that we supposedly can finish in like, 4 weeks is not so easy after all. Plus the whole week 4 holiday will probably be taken up by band practices anyway. Sam Lee was talking about extensions. Maybe that's a good idea.

And there are 3 more ongoing PTs, one of which is due NEXT WEEK -.- Tonight I'm quite pissed.

Please don't say things without thinking can. D<

Oh look. Cool, it's 12.33 now.
